Once the ground was ready, the cabin began to rise. In 2023 the build began and the foundation walls went in, solid and square in the hole dug for them. From July through October 2023 the framing went up wall by wall, and the house we had been picturing for so long finally had a shape you could walk through.
The next stretch, in 2024 and 2025, was about the exterior and the deck. Siding, windows and a roof made it look like a cabin from the road, and then the deck wrapped it in a place to sit outside.
